Winnie Johnston
Art Camp Director @ Park of the Pines
Winnie has managed to bring together two incredible worlds—outdoor leadership and artistic expression. With a decade-long run as the Michigan Camping Coordinator and a formal background in Fine Arts, she’s the perfect person to bridge the gap between “roughing it” and “creating it.” Winnie brings a lifetime of camp tradition and professional expertise to our program. Having transitioned from a young camper to the Camping Coordinator for Community of Christ Michigan (2016–2025), she understands the magic of summer camp.
But Winnie’s leadership is only half the story. Her true passion lies in the studio. With a Fine Arts degree from Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology, she has spent her life pursuing every avenue of creativity. This isn’t your average summer program. Winnie has gathered a team where the talent runs deep. Every counselor and staff member is a working artist, a dedicated teacher, or a lifelong creative. At Art Camp we don’t just “do art” we help campers delve deep into their creative selves. Whether your child is a budding painter or a curious beginner, they are in expert hands. “At Art Camp, we don’t just provide supplies; we provide the spark and the space for every camper to discover their unique voice.”
